ABOUT ME
JOSHUA OSTING
Exceptionally Obedient Dogs LLC was founded July of 2021. Josh's passion for training dogs started in 2015, but his love of dogs has been lifelong. He realized this passion for training when he adopted two American Bullies named Odin and Freya. They were a handful at 10 weeks old, always running away or trying to climb on anyone they could, not to mention the potty training! After realizing he needed to get ahead of them before they got too big, Josh began working with them daily and learning as much as he could about training. Over the weekends, he would take them to a dog group for training and a play session at the local dog park. Along the way, he learned how to teach his dogs what he was trying to communicate to them and the fundamentals of training. As time passed, Odin and Freya went from being out-of-control pups to having structure and clear communication. Josh began helping others at the dog park, teaching basic obedience to new group members, and supervising the play groups to ensure safe and fun socialization.
Josh is a graduate of Tarheel Canine School For Dog Trainers. During his time there, he had hands-on experience with countless pet dogs, police dogs, and Military Working Dogs during the Master Dog Trainers course. During the course, he furthered his education in canine learning theory to better teach basic obedience, off-leash obedience, scent detection, tracking, and protection work. He learned training techniques and theories to help reform some of the most aggressive dogs and turn them into the perfect loving family pet!
He continues learning advanced training techniques for specialized fields such as Protection Sports and other dog competitions.
Josh enjoys spending time with all different kinds of dogs. Learning their strengths, weaknesses, and personalities to not only train but also connect with these dogs helps Josh achieve the best results. Consistency, clear communication, and patience are the skills that ultimately determine his success.
